Topgolf, a boutique driving range experience, is opening a new location here in Southern California in El Segundo. They are a favorite destination for golfers and many of our employees are fans. So, when Bragg Crane & Rigging was hired to erect the structure, we were thrilled.

Due to the unique shape and makeup of the structure, this job provided a challenge to our project manager and engineering team. The building features a cantilevered edge in the driving range portion, giving an open-air feel for the golfers. This portion specifically was a sport of emphasis, with our crew taking care to ensure that the slab edge and the cantilevered beams were at their proper positioning and elevation.

The building was erected using only one crane, the American 8470 180-Ton. This crane and specific configuration were utilized so that they only had to move the crane to two locations at the jobsite to erect the entire building.

The project ran smoothly and due to the opportunity to expedite the steel completion, it was completed in 27 days rather than the scheduled 40-day duration. Even with a complex job such as this one, our team was able to execute it efficiently and smoothly. We are looking forward to Topgolf opening soon!
